The CLARO project aims at developing a RadioPathomics-based Decision Support Systems (RPDSSs) targeted at patients suffering from non-small cell lung cancer, pursuing the following objectives:
- Predict the progression free survival (PFS) for all patients (primary goal);
- Predict the first response evaluation according to RECIST, iRECIST and EORTC criteria, depending on the use of CT or PET-CT imaging;
- Predict pulmonary toxicity of chemoradiation according to CTC-AE 4.0 criteria.
These goals would surely allow to save non responder patients from undergoing useless treatments, and to plan for them different and more effective therapies, optimizing clinical practice and improving patients’ outcomes.
